B-LINE SB862812S066EW – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can I mount a rack PDU to this Eaton B-Line RCM cable manager?
Yes. It is built for direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU fastens straight to the manager body instead of eating a rack unit or needing a separate PDU bracket. That is the main reason to pick this version over a plain cable channel.
2) Is this cable manager double sided, and what does that mean for front and rear cable runs?
It is a double sided RCM rack mounted vertical manager, so it carries cable in both the front and rear channels. On a two post open frame rack that lets you keep patch cords on one side and power or equipment cords on the other in a single part.
3) How are cables retained in this manager, and can I get at them after the room is live?
Retention is by low density plastic gates rather than a hinged solid door. The gates flex open so a tech can drop a cord into the channel or pull one out mid-run without removing hardware. Low density gating suits lighter patch bundles; a high density channel is the choice for heavily loaded switch fields.
4) Will this white cable manager match Eaton white powder coat racks already in my data room?
The finish is Eaton white powder coat over aluminum, with black plastic components for the gates, so it matches other Eaton B-Line white powder coat open frame racks and managers. If your existing frames are black, this piece will not match visually.
5) Is this Eaton B-Line vertical cable manager UL listed for an electrical inspection?
UL is stated for this manager, which is what most facility and institutional specs ask for on rack mounted cable management and PDU mounting accessories in a telecom or electrical room.
6) What part number should I order for the 60 inch white double sided B-Line RCM manager?
Order MPN SB862812S066EW. That is the Eaton B-Line RCM double sided vertical cable manager, 60.375 inches high, 2.625 inches wide, 3 inches deep, white powder coat, with direct PDU mounting and low density plastic gates.
7) Does this include the vertical cabling channel or is that a separate piece?
The vertical cabling section is included with the manager, so you are not buying the channel and the gating separately. What is not included is the PDU itself or rack mounting hardware for your specific frame.
