B-LINE SB86563DFB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Eaton B-Line RCM vertical cable manager fit a 7-foot open frame rack?
Yes. The RCM dual density cable manager, model SB86563DFB, is 84 inches tall, which is the standard 7-foot open frame rack height, so it runs the full side of the rack. Overall footprint is 3.65 inches wide by 13.5 inches deep.
2) How much space do I need beside the rack for this cable manager?
Allow at least 3.65 inches of clear width alongside the rack upright and 13.5 inches of depth. In a row of racks that means adding roughly 3.65 inches per manager to your total aisle layout width. Fingers and door project within that 13.5 inch depth envelope.
3) Is this cable manager black to match existing open frame racks?
Finish is flat black powder coat, which is the standard black used on Eaton B-Line open frame racks, so it matches a black rack lineup rather than standing out against it.
4) What exact part number do I order for the 84 inch black RCM dual density manager?
Order Eaton B-Line MPN SB86563DFB. That is the single configuration: 84 inch height, 3.65 inch width, 13.5 inch depth, flat black powder coat, RCM dual density.
5) What does dual density mean on an RCM vertical cable manager?
Dual density refers to the finger spacing pattern, giving you both tighter and wider cable openings up the height of the channel so patch cords and larger trunk bundles route in the same manager. Its job is straightforward: additional cable support alongside the rack instead of letting cable hang on the rails.
6) How heavy is this vertical cable manager for a one-person install?
At 15.4 pounds it is a single-person lift, but at 84 inches long it is awkward to hold plumb against the rack while starting fasteners. Most installers set the bottom, start the top hardware, then work down.
7) Does the Eaton B-Line SB86563DFB cable manager carry any listings or certifications?
No certifications apply to this part. It is a passive steel cable management channel, not an electrical device, so there is no listing to specify on a submittal for it.
