B-LINE SB5772301AL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many rack units does the SB5772301AL blank panel cover?
One mounting space, so 1U. The panel measures 1.69 inches in height, which is the usual cut for a 1U panel against the 1.75 inch rack unit pitch, so it covers a single open space without binding on the panels above and below.
2) What size screws do I need to mount this Eaton B-Line blank panel?
It's drilled for #12-24 mounting hardware, the thread B-Line uses on its open frame aluminum racks. If your rack rails are tapped 10-32, this hole pattern is the wrong hardware match and you want the 10-32 version.
3) Do I actually need blank filler panels in an open frame relay rack?
On an open two-post rack there is no airflow containment to protect, so blanks here are about appearance and about keeping hands and cords out of unused spaces in a public or shared room. The 23 inch brushed aluminum blank matches the finish of B-Line aluminum open racks so a partly loaded rack reads as finished. If you are chasing hot-aisle separation, that is a job for an enclosed cabinet with sealed blanking, not an open frame.
4) Does this Eaton B-Line blank panel carry a UL listing or other certification?
It is a passive aluminum blanking plate with no electrical function, and the record carries no certification for it. If your specification calls out a listed component for the rack itself, that requirement lands on the rack and any powered equipment in it, not on a blank cover panel.
