B-Line Eaton series open racks, Aluminum, 51, Rack width 23, Mounting spaces: 49, Telco gray powder coat, Self-supporting aluminum relay rack

No, not directly. The SB558096XUTG is a 23 inch rack, so the mounting rails are spaced for 23 inch wide equipment or panels. Standard 19 inch switches, patch panels and UPS units need 19-to-23 inch adapter brackets or a 19 inch rack instead. Telco and broadcast gear is commonly 23 inch; IT gear is usually 19 inch, so confirm which your equipment is before ordering.

The frame is aluminum and steel construction and weighs 31.5 lb. That is light enough for one person to walk into a closet and stand up, which is the main reason people pick an aluminum relay rack over a welded steel enclosure. Remember the rating that matters on the job is what your mounted equipment weighs, not the frame.

An open frame like this 23 inch B-Line relay rack gives you access from all four sides, free airflow, and easy cable dressing down the uprights, which is why it is the standard in secured telco and MDF rooms. Go to an enclosed cabinet instead when the room is shared, public, or dirty and you need lockable doors and dust control. Open racks give you no physical security on the equipment.

Order Eaton B-Line part number SB558096XUTG. That gets the 23 inch wide, 96 inch tall self-supporting aluminum relay rack in telco gray powder coat with 49 mounting spaces. Cable management, vertical managers, power strips and floor anchors are separate items.

Telco gray powder coat, the standard finish in central office and telecom rooms, so it will match existing gray relay racks and ladder rack in the same space. Powder coat over the aluminum and steel frame handles the handling and equipment swaps a rack sees over its life.
