B-LINE SB7441915AL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line SB7441915AL keyboard drawer fit a standard 19-inch rack?
Yes. The Eaton B-Line SB7441915AL is a 19-inch wide shelf with sliding keyboard drawer, so it mounts to the standard 19-inch EIA rack rails found on open frame racks and cabinets. It stands 4.75 inches tall, which is 3 rack units of panel space, and projects 15 inches deep, so allow at least that much clear depth behind the rails plus travel room for the drawer to slide out.
2) Do I need to buy mounting hardware separately for this B-Line rack shelf?
No, the mounting hardware ships with the SB7441915AL shelf and keyboard drawer. You supply nothing extra to attach it to the rack rails.
3) How much space does this rack keyboard drawer take up in my rack?
Plan on 3 rack units of vertical space. The unit measures 4.75 inches high, 19 inches wide and 15 inches deep, and because the keyboard tray slides forward you also want the space in front of it kept clear.
4) Is the Eaton B-Line SB7441915AL a fixed shelf or does the keyboard part pull out?
Both. It is a fixed rack shelf with a keyboard drawer that slides out underneath it, so a monitor or KVM can sit on the shelf surface while the keyboard tucks away when it is not in use. That is the difference between this model and a plain flat vented shelf.
5) What finish and material is the B-Line SB7441915AL keyboard shelf?
Aluminum, in a brushed aluminum finish. That matters if you are matching it to existing open frame racks in a data closet, since it will not blend with black powder coated racks and accessories. Aluminum also keeps the unit light for a shelf this size, at 13.5 lb.
6) Does the B-Line SB7441915AL carry any listings or certifications?
No listings or certifications apply to this shelf and keyboard drawer, which is normal for a passive mechanical rack accessory with no electrical components.
