Plan for a 25.25 by 25.25 inch footprint on the wall with 24 inches of depth off the face. That depth is what usually decides it: in a tight telecom closet or a corridor, check your door swing and walkway clearance before mounting, because an open rack has no doors to close over cable.

It is a wall-mounted rack that carries its own 14 lb plus up to 200 lb of gear, so the fasteners have to reach structure. Lag into wood studs or use through-bolts and backing on metal stud or masonry walls. Drywall anchors alone will not carry a loaded 200 lb rack.

An open frame rack like the SB704232524TG gives you full access to both sides of the panel and unrestricted airflow, and it is lighter on the wall at 14 lb. It gives you no physical security and no dust protection. If the equipment sits in a tenant space, a corridor, or anywhere unauthorized hands reach it, go with a lockable wall-mount enclosure. In a locked telecom room, the open frame is the easier one to terminate and service.

Usable mounting height follows the 25.25 inch overall height of the frame, so plan your panel stack against that dimension rather than assuming a fixed U count. A rack unit is 1.75 inches, so measure the panels and shelves you intend to mount and confirm the total fits inside the frame height before ordering.

No cage nuts. The mounting holes are tapped #12-24, so panels bolt straight in with #12-24 rack screws. Screws for your specific panels, plus the wall anchors or lags suited to your wall construction, are the items to line up separately.

Both. The uprights are aluminum and the extension brackets are steel, finished in telco gray powder coat. Powder coat over that combination is fine for indoor telecom and MDF/IDF closets. For washdown, exterior, or corrosive environments, specify an enclosure rated for the location instead of an open frame.
