B-LINE SB59216ATG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Eaton B-Line SB59216ATG end guard actually do on an open relay rack?
It's a heavy duty end guard that mounts at the end of a rack lineup to shield the equipment mounted there from knocks and passing traffic. On open frame racks the outermost gear has no side panel protecting it, so the guard takes that duty. Aluminum construction, Telco gray powder coat finish.
2) Will the SB59216ATG end guard suit a 16 inch deep relay rack?
Yes. The guard is 16 inches on its length/depth dimension, with 1.25 inch height and 1.25 inch width, so it runs the depth of a standard 16 inch deep open frame rack channel. If your rack is deeper, the guard will not cover the full depth.
3) Is the SB59216ATG guard aluminum or steel, and does the finish match Telco gray racks?
Aluminum, finished in Telco gray powder coat. That's the same gray convention used across Eaton B-Line open frame rack hardware, so it blends into an existing telco gray lineup rather than standing out as a mismatched accessory. Aluminum also keeps the piece light, 1.7 lb.
4) What part number do I order for the B-Line heavy duty relay rack end guard?
Order Eaton B-Line SB59216ATG. It's a single configuration, so there's no finish or length choice to specify: aluminum, Telco gray powder coat, 16 inch depth.
5) How many end guards do I need for a row of open racks?
Only the two exposed ends of a lineup need guarding, so a single run of racks takes two SB59216ATG guards, one per end. Racks in the middle of the row are shielded by their neighbors. If a rack stands alone, it has two exposed ends of its own.
6) Does this B-Line end guard carry any UL or agency listing?
No agency listing applies to the SB59216ATG. It's a passive aluminum guard bracket, not an electrical or load-rated component, and the certification record reads Not Applicable.
7) Is the SB59216ATG light enough to handle on a ladder by myself?
At 1.7 lb it's a one-hand piece. The aluminum body keeps it light despite the heavy duty designation, so a single tech can position and fasten it without help.
