B-LINE SB741S19SSL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is Eaton B-Line SB741S19SSL used for in a rack?
SB741S19SSL is a rack mounted shelf built to hold a CPU and monitor, with a keyboard extension on a solid shelf. It mounts into an Eaton B-Line series open frame rack, so the workstation gear sits on the rack itself rather than on a separate desk or cart.
2) Will the B-Line SB741S19SSL shelf fit a standard 19 inch rack?
The shelf measures 17.31 in wide, 15 in deep and 5.19 in high, which sits inside the rail opening of a 19 inch rack frame. Measure your usable rail-to-rail opening and the 15 in depth clearance behind the rails before ordering, since open frame racks vary in depth.
3) How much rack space does the SB741S19SSL keyboard shelf take up?
At 5.19 in of height, the shelf occupies roughly 3 rack units (a rack unit is 1.75 in), so plan for three U of open space in the frame plus room for the keyboard extension to slide out in front.
4) Can this B-Line shelf hold a monitor and a tower PC, or is it just for a keyboard?
It is a solid shelf sized to carry a CPU and monitor together, with the keyboard riding on a separate extension. That is the difference between this and a plain keyboard tray: you get a full work surface, not just a pull-out.
5) What part number do I order for the B-Line CPU and monitor rack shelf with keyboard extension?
Order Eaton B-Line part SB741S19SSL. It is a single configuration, silver powder coat steel, so there is no finish or size choice to specify on the order.
6) Is the SB741S19SSL rack shelf steel, and what is the finish?
Steel construction with a silver powder coat finish, which is the common look for B-Line open frame rack accessories and matches silver-finished frames and panels in the same run.
7) Does the B-Line SB741S19SSL rack shelf carry any listings or certifications?
Certifications are marked Not Applicable for this shelf. It is a mechanical mounting accessory, not an electrical device, so there is no listing to reference on a submittal for it.
