B-LINE SB860812D084FB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Eaton B-Line SB860812D084FB a rack or a vertical cable manager?
It is a double-sided rack mounted vertical cable manager, part number SB860812D084FB, from the Eaton B-Line open frame rack family. It bolts to the side of an open two-post or four-post frame and routes cable vertically on both the front and rear of the rack, rather than being a rack itself.
2) Will this 12 inch cable manager fit a 7 foot open frame rack?
Yes. The channel stands 79.625 inches tall, which suits a standard 84 inch (7 foot) open frame. It is 12 inches wide and 21.625 inches deep, so allow a full 12 inches of aisle or footprint width beside the rack plus the 21.625 inch depth for the gates to close.
3) Can I mount a vertical PDU inside this B-Line cable manager?
Yes, it is built for direct PDU mounting, so a vertical power strip can be attached inside the channel and run alongside the data cable rather than eating rack units in the frame.
4) What hardware comes with the SB860812D084FB cable manager?
Push-in fasteners and cable strap mounts are included. Rack attachment goes to the frame uprights, so the mounting screws you use will depend on the rack you are bolting to.
5) Is this Eaton B-Line cable manager UL listed for a data center install?
UL is the certification carried on this cable manager, which is what most facility and institutional specs call for on rack and cable management in an equipment room.
6) Will this black cable manager match existing black open frame racks?
The finish is flat black powder coat on the aluminum channel with black plastic components, so it reads as a matte black rather than gloss. If the rest of your row is flat black B-Line open frame, it will sit consistently with it.
