B-Line Eaton series open racks, Mounting spaces: 8, 5" Space between racks, Telco gray powder coat, Rack extension

It's an extension section for Eaton B-Line series open frame relay racks, adding 8 mounting spaces of usable height and holding a 5 inch space between racks. It bolts onto an existing open frame rack rather than standing on its own, so you use it when you've run out of rack space overhead and want to build up instead of adding another floor-mounted frame.

It is an extension, not a complete rack, so there's no base and it won't stand alone. Order it only if you already have an Eaton B-Line series open frame rack to mount it to. If you need a new standing frame, buy the base rack instead and add this on top later.

The extension is finished in telco gray powder coat, the standard B-Line open rack color, so it matches existing Eaton B-Line telco gray frames and most other telco gray relay racks in a typical MDF or IDF. If your existing racks are black, the gray will read as a mismatch.

The extension carries a 5 inch space between racks, meaning the gap it maintains between adjacent rack uprights when frames are ganged in a row. Keep that spacing consistent with the racks below it, otherwise ladder rack, waterfall and vertical cable manager runs won't line up once the extension is on top.

It weighs 33 pounds. One person can carry it, but lifting a 33 pound steel section overhead and lining up bolt holes on top of a standing rack is a two-person job in practice, especially in a live equipment room.

Certifications are marked Not Applicable for this extension. It is an open steel frame structural component, not an electrical device, so it carries no listing of its own. On a spec job the listings you need will come from the equipment and power strips you mount in it.
