B-LINE SB862BRC12078EW – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Eaton B-Line SB862BRC12078EW, a cable manager or just a cover?
It's the removable back cover for an Eaton B-Line RCM vertical cable manager, not the manager itself. Steel, finished in Eaton white powder coat, 78 inches tall and 12 inches wide, with cable routing built into the removable back. You still need the vertical cable manager body (SB860, SB862 or SB864) for it to mount to.
2) Does mounting hardware come with the Eaton B-Line SB862BRC12078EW back cover?
Yes, mounting hardware is included with the cover. The cover itself is the part you're buying; the vertical cable manager body and the open frame rack are separate.
3) Will the white finish match the rest of my Eaton B-Line white rack gear?
The cover is finished in Eaton white powder coat, the same finish used across Eaton B-Line open frame racks and RCM managers, so it matches white-finish frames and managers in the same family. It won't match black powder coat equipment.
4) Why order a removable back cover instead of leaving the cable manager open at the rear?
The removable back gives you a finished, closed channel at the rear while still letting you pull the panel off for re-cabling or moves, and it has cable routing in the back so you can exit bundles without dropping the whole cover. It's the choice for MDF and IDF rooms where the back of the rack is visible or where you want cables retained rather than sagging out of the channel.
5) Can one person handle this rack cover during install?
At 8.9 lb it's a one-person lift, though at 78 inches long it's awkward on a ladder. Steel panel, so support the middle while you set the fasteners.
