The shelf measures 23.31 inches wide overall, which covers the mounting flanges that land on the rails of a standard 19 inch open frame rack. Usable depth is 20 inches and the shelf occupies 6 inches of vertical height. Check that you have at least 20 inches of clear depth in front of the rails, since this is a double sided mount and the shelf body extends behind the front uprights.

Double sided means the shelf mounts to both the front and rear uprights of an open frame rack rather than cantilevering off the front rails only. That gives support at four points instead of two, which is what you want for heavier gear sitting on a solid shelf. It also means you need a rack with rear uprights, so it is not a fit for a two post rack.

It is a solid steel shelf, not vented. Airflow passes around equipment rather than up through the shelf, so for gear that draws cooling air from underneath, a vented shelf is the better choice. For switches, power supplies, media converters and similar side or front breathing equipment, solid is fine and gives full surface support.

6 inches of height, so plan on roughly 3-1/2 rack units of space plus whatever clearance your equipment needs above the shelf surface. A rack unit is 1.75 inches.

The shelf is finished in silver powder coat, the same finish used on Eaton B-Line series open frame racks, so it matches a silver B-Line rack without a color mismatch. If your existing racks are black, the shelf will stand out.

16.8 lb of steel. One person can set it, but on a full height rack it is easier with two, since you are aligning hardware at both the front and rear uprights at the same time.
