B-LINE SB5631A01YZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What comes in the Eaton B-Line SB5631A01YZ cable support bar kit?
The SB5631A01YZ ships as two support bars plus the mounting hardware, for Eaton B-Line series open frame racks. Steel construction with a yellow zinc chromate finish. You order the pair as one part number, so there is no separate hardware line to add.
2) Is this cable support bar for an open frame relay rack or for an enclosed cabinet?
It is made for Eaton B-Line series open frame racks, not enclosures. On a two-post open rack the bars mount off the rack uprights to carry cable weight behind the equipment. If you are working in a sealed cabinet, you want cabinet-specific cable management rather than this open rack bar.
3) How much room does the Eaton B-Line SB5631A01YZ support bar take up behind my gear?
The bar's stated dimensions are 4.75 in, .25 in, and .23 in, so the profile is slim and the 4.75 in dimension is the long one. Each bar weighs .08 lb, so it adds essentially nothing to the rack load, and you can plan clearances around a bar that is roughly a quarter inch in section.
4) Do these support bars carry a UL listing or any certification I can put on a submittal?
No certification applies to this part, and none is claimed for it. It is a steel cable support bar and hardware set for open frame racks, so on a submittal it reads as a mechanical rack accessory rather than a listed electrical component.
5) Will a yellow zinc chromate finish hold up in a data room, or do I need something else?
Yellow zinc chromate over steel is a plated corrosion coating suited to conditioned indoor spaces like a data or telecom room. It is not a painted architectural finish, so it will not match black powder coated rack accessories visually, and it is not intended for wet or outdoor exposure.
