The SB5548084TG gives you 43 mounting spaces over an 84 inch tall frame. That is the usable equipment height for panels, patch frames and switch gear mounted to the rails.

Tapped. The rails carry 12-24 panel mounting holes, so equipment bolts straight in with 12-24 screws. If your gear is supplied with cage nuts for square-hole rails, those will not work here.

Yes. The SB5548084TG is built as a Seismic Zone 4 closed duct unequal flange rack, which is the classification used for the highest seismic design category in telecom and data rooms. It is also UL Listed.

Unequal flange means the two legs of the rail channel are different depths, so you get a deeper mounting face on one side. Installers use that extra flange for cable management hardware and vertical wire runs alongside the equipment. The SB5548084TG pairs that with a closed duct design, which gives an enclosed channel for cable routing up the frame. An equal flange rack is the simpler choice when you are only bolting panels on and running cable externally.

The rack is 23 inches wide, 84 inches high, with a length/depth figure of 84 inches, and it weighs 90 lb bare. Plan lifting and anchoring for a two-person set, then add the weight of the equipment you are loading.

Top angle refers to the angle bracket across the top of the frame, which is what you use to tie the rack off to overhead ladder rack, cable runway or an auxiliary framing channel. In a Seismic Zone 4 install that overhead bracing, along with floor anchoring, is how the rack gets its rigidity.

Open frame. The SB5548084TG is a two-post style open relay rack with no doors, side panels or roof, so equipment is accessible from all sides and cooling is by room air. If you need lockable access or dust control, an enclosed cabinet is the right product instead.

The finish is Telco gray powder coat over steel, the standard color used across telecom equipment frames, so it will line up visually with existing Telco gray racks and ladder rack in the room.
