B-Line Eaton series open racks, Steel, Telco gray powder coat, Universal distribution

The frame stands 84 inches tall, which is the common 7-foot open rack height. In a room with a 9-foot finished ceiling you have roughly two feet of clearance overhead for cable tray, ladder rack or conduit above the frame. In a space with an 8-foot drop ceiling grid it will land close to the tile, so check your ceiling height before you set the anchors.

Width is 21.38 inches and the length/depth figure is 84 inches. Plan the floor space and aisle clearance off those two numbers, and remember an open frame rack is meant to be lagged to the slab and is normally braced overhead or to a wall, so lay it out where you can get anchors into concrete.

It is an open frame universal distribution rack, not an enclosed cabinet. There are no side panels, no doors and no lockable enclosure, so equipment mounted in it is exposed on all sides. That is what you want in a telecom or IDF room where you need open access to patch cords and passive airflow. If the room is shared, public, or you need physical security or contained cooling, spec a locking enclosure instead.

Shipping weight on the frame is 154.83 lb. That is a two-person lift to stand upright, and the loaded weight with switches, patch panels and cable will run well past that, so confirm your floor loading and use concrete anchors rather than toggle fasteners.

Steel construction with a Telco gray powder coat. Telco gray is the standard color used across telecom distribution frames and cable runway, so it will read as a match alongside existing gray open racks and ladder rack in the same room. It is an indoor, conditioned-space finish, not a coastal or wash-down coating.

Order Eaton B-Line part number SB61708404TG. That single catalog number covers the 84 inch steel universal distribution frame in Telco gray powder coat, so there is no separate finish or height suffix to specify.

What you are buying is the steel frame itself. Vertical and horizontal cable managers, rack screws or cage nuts, grounding busbar and floor anchors are separate line items on an open frame build, so add them to the order if the job needs them. Budget for the anchors in particular, since a 154.83 lb frame loaded with equipment has to be secured to the slab.
