B-LINE SB2129U20YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the B-Line SB2129U20YZ dropout come with mounting hardware?
Yes, self drilling screws are included in the kit, so it fastens directly to the runway stringer without separate drilling and tapping. No additional clamps or brackets are called out.
2) Is the yellow zinc finish on this runway dropout suitable for a telecom room, or do I need something else for damp areas?
The SB2129U20YZ is 18 gauge ASTM A569 steel with a yellow zinc plating. That is a plated finish intended for dry indoor use, typical of data centers, MDF and IDF rooms and telecom closets. For wet, corrosive or exterior runs, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless runway accessory instead.
3) Is the B-Line runway dropout UL Listed?
Yes, the SB2129U20YZ carries a UL Listing. That matters on institutional and government jobs where every item in the cable support system has to be a listed component on the submittal.
4) What is the exact part number to order for the B-Line 20 inch yellow zinc runway dropout?
Order Eaton B-Line part SB2129U20YZ. The 20 in that number is the runway width it suits and YZ is the yellow zinc finish, so a different runway width takes a different number in the same series.
5) How much does the B-Line 20 inch runway dropout weigh, and will it load my runway?
It weighs 3 pounds. That is negligible against runway load ratings; the governing load is the cable bundle passing through it, not the dropout itself.
