B-LINE SB12824YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Eaton B-Line SB12824YZ pan support actually do in a cable runway installation?
It is a wire support that hangs a cable runway pan from the runway rungs. The runway carries the cable; the pan rides underneath it, and the SB12824YZ suspends that pan off the rungs so you are not drilling or clamping the pan directly to the stringers.
2) How wide a runway pan will the SB12824YZ support span?
The support measures 24 inches across, so it is sized for a 24 inch wide runway pan run. Its other two dimensions are 1.03 inches each, which is the small hook profile that sits over the rung. If your runway is a different width, you need the matching width support rather than this one.
3) Is the B-Line SB12824YZ pan support UL Listed?
Yes, the SB12824YZ carries a UL Listed rating, which is what most data center and telecom specs call out for runway accessories.
4) Is the yellow zinc finish on this pan support suitable for an outdoor or damp installation?
The SB12824YZ is yellow zinc plated cold finished steel wire. Yellow zinc is a plated indoor finish, so it belongs in conditioned equipment rooms, telecom closets and data centers. For exterior or wet locations you want a hot dip galvanized or stainless support instead.
5) Does the SB12824YZ come with mounting hardware or does it just hook over the rung?
It is a one piece formed steel wire support that hangs from the runway rungs, so no separate clamp assembly is part of the part itself. Order one support per suspension point along the pan run.
