B-LINE SB12606FB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Eaton B-Line SB12606FB runway retaining post actually do on a cable runway?
The SB12606FB is a runway retaining post that stands up off the runway stringer to hold cable in place above the rail, which is how you increase the cable capacity fill of the runway without the bundle spilling over the side. It ships as a runway termination kit with a stringer mounting bracket, so it clamps to the stringer rather than requiring you to drill the runway.
2) How tall is the B-Line SB12606FB retaining post, and how much extra cable stack does it give me?
The post measures 6 inches high, 1.5 inches wide and .375 inch thick, so it adds roughly 6 inches of vertical retention above the stringer for stacking cable. At .68 lb each it adds almost nothing to the runway load, so you can run them at regular intervals down a long run.
3) Do I need to drill my runway stringer to install the SB12606FB post?
No. The retaining post mounts with a stringer mounting bracket, so it attaches to the existing stringer rail. That makes it a retrofit part for runway that is already installed and loaded, not just for new builds.
4) Is the Eaton B-Line SB12606FB UL Listed for use in a data center or telecom room?
UL Listed, yes. That is the rating carried on the SB12606FB retaining post, which matters when an inspector or a facility spec requires listed components throughout the cable runway system.
5) What part number do I order for the B-Line flat black runway retaining post?
Order Eaton B-Line model SB12606FB. That is the single model for the flat black powder coat runway termination kit with the stringer mounting bracket.
6) What finish is the SB12606FB runway post, and will it match black runway in a data hall?
Flat black powder coat. It matches black-finished B-Line runway and ladder rack, and the powder coat gives a painted steel surface rather than bare or plated metal.
