B-LINE SB214A24KFB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is this bracket a wall support or a floor/ceiling support for cable runway?
It's a wall support. The B-Line SB214A24KFB is a runway wall support bracket, so it fastens to a wall surface and holds the runway out from it. For a run that has to cross open space away from walls, you need threaded-rod ceiling hangers or floor-mounted posts instead.
2) What size is the B-Line runway wall bracket, and how much space does it need on the wall?
The bracket measures 6 x 6 x 3 inches, so it takes up a small footprint on the wall and projects only a few inches off it. Shipping weight is listed at 10 lb per bracket. Plan the wall opening and any conduit or device clearance around those dimensions.
3) Will the flat black finish on this B-Line bracket match existing black cable runway in a data room?
Yes. The SB214A24KFB is finished in flat black powder coat, which is the standard black used on B-Line runway and ladder rack, so it blends with existing black runway, tie-down bars and end caps in the same room.
4) Does the B-Line SB214A24KFB bracket come with wall anchors or mounting hardware?
What ships is the bracket itself, model SB214A24KFB. Anchors are specified to the wall you are fastening into (concrete wedge anchors, toggle bolts into drywall over studs, or bolts through unistrut), so the fasteners are bought separately to suit the substrate. You will also need the hardware kit that joins the runway stringer to the bracket if it is not already on hand.
5) Is this runway bracket steel or aluminum?
Steel, with a flat black powder coat over it. Steel brackets are the usual choice where the wall support has to carry loaded runway; aluminum runway systems often use aluminum supports, so if you are matching an all-aluminum run, confirm you want a steel support in that assembly.
6) How many wall brackets do I need along a run of 24 inch cable runway?
Support spacing is set by the runway manufacturer's load table for the stringer depth and the cable load you are carrying, not by the bracket. Practically, installers set wall supports at each wall penetration and at regular intervals along the wall, then add a bracket at every splice so the joint is supported. Order one SB214A24KFB per support point plus the splice locations.
