B-LINE SB2135BYZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the B-Line SB2135BYZ splice used for on a cable runway?
The SB2135BYZ is a pair of splice clamps used to join runway stringers end to end, so two lengths of cable runway become one continuous run. It ships as a pair, which covers both sides of a single stringer joint. For a full runway splice you need one pair per stringer, so a two-stringer runway takes two pairs at each joint.
2) Is the B-Line runway splice clamp UL Listed for a data center or telecom room?
Yes, the SB2135BYZ splice clamp pair is UL Listed, which is what inspectors and institutional specs typically look for on runway support hardware in telecom and equipment rooms.
3) How many SB2135BYZ splice kits do I need per runway joint?
One kit covers one stringer joint, since it comes as a pair of clamps. Cable runway has two stringers, so budget two kits for every place two runway sections butt together. Count your joints, double it, and that is your order quantity.
4) What material and finish are the B-Line SB2135BYZ splice clamps?
Yellow zinc plated ASTM A570 structural steel. That is a plated indoor finish, so it suits conditioned equipment rooms, MDF/IDF closets and data centers. For exterior or wet locations you want a hot-dip galvanized or stainless support instead.
5) Can I use runway splice clamps to make a corner or tee in cable runway?
No. The SB2135BYZ is a straight splice, meant to connect stringer to stringer in line. Turns, tees and elevation changes need the dedicated runway corner, junction or drop fittings from the same B-Line runway line, not a splice clamp forced into an angle.
6) Does the B-Line splice clamp include the bolts and nuts to fasten it?
What is confirmed is the pair of splice clamps themselves in yellow zinc ASTM A570 steel. Plan on confirming hardware separately with your runway kit rather than assuming fasteners are in the bag.
