B-LINE SB2126122YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is this B-Line runway standoff UL Listed for a data center or telecom room install?
UL Listed, per the product record. That is the line an institutional or MRO spec usually calls for on cable runway supporting hardware, so it can be submitted as a UL Listed steel standoff support for 12 inch runway.
2) How far off the wall does this standoff hold the cable runway?
The standoff's depth dimension is 2 inches, so it is a close-to-wall mount rather than a deep bracket. Overall it measures 14 inches high, 12 inches wide, 2 inches deep. If you need working clearance behind the runway for cable drops or conduit, plan for that 2 inch offset before you commit.
3) What does the yellow zinc dichromate finish on this B-Line support mean for where I can install it?
Yellow zinc dichromate is a plated coating over the steel body, aimed at dry indoor electrical and telecom spaces, equipment rooms, and IT closets. It is not a hot dip galvanized or stainless part, so for outdoor or wash down locations specify a finish rated for that exposure instead.
4) Does the B-Line runway standoff support come with wall anchors or mounting bolts?
What you are ordering under SB2126122YZ is the steel standoff support itself. Anchors sized to your wall construction, and the hardware that attaches the runway stringer to the bracket, are bought separately, so include those in your material list before the crew shows up.
5) Is a runway standoff the right choice, or should I use threaded rod and ceiling hangers?
A standoff support like this one carries the runway off a wall at a fixed 2 inch offset, which is what you want along a perimeter wall or where the deck is too high or too congested to drop rod. Ceiling hangers with threaded rod are the better answer for runway running down the middle of a room, away from any wall. Many rooms use both: standoffs where the runway hugs the wall, rod drops where it crosses open floor.
6) What is the exact part number to order this 12 inch B-Line runway standoff?
Order Eaton B-Line part number SB2126122YZ. The YZ at the end is the yellow zinc dichromate finish, so if a submittal calls out a different finish code the base number changes with it.
