B-LINE B392-22-1ZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Eaton B-Line B392-22-1ZN and what does it do on a strut run?
The B392-22-1ZN is a connection end cap for Eaton B-Line strut. It closes off the open end of a strut channel and provides a fastening point, shipping with one 1/4-20 square nut and one B436S fixture stud nut so you can hang a fixture or anchor a threaded rod at the end of the run. Steel, electro-plated zinc finish, 11 gauge.
2) Does the B392-22-1ZN end cap come with nuts, or do I have to order hardware separately?
Hardware is included. Each cap comes with one 1/4-20 square nut and one B436S fixture stud nut. You still supply the bolt or fixture stud itself, plus whatever hanger rod or fitting the run calls for.
3) Is this B-Line strut end cap UL Listed for electrical work?
Yes, the B392-22-1ZN carries a UL Listed certification, which is what most inspectors and institutional specs want to see on strut accessories supporting electrical raceway and fixtures.
4) Is the electro-plated zinc finish on this strut end cap okay for outdoor or wet locations?
Electro-plated zinc is a light indoor/dry-location finish on this steel cap. For exterior, damp, or corrosive areas, specify a hot-dip galvanized or stainless strut accessory instead; the zinc plating here will not hold up to sustained weather exposure.
5) Can I hang a light fixture off the end of a strut run with this cap?
That is what the included B436S fixture stud nut is for. The cap closes the channel end and the stud nut gives you the fixture stud connection point, with a 1/4-20 square nut for a standard bolted attachment. Match your fixture stud thread to the B436S before you order the fixture hardware.
6) What exact part number should I order for the B-Line connection end cap with the fixture stud nut?
Order B-Line part B392-22-1ZN. The ZN suffix is the electro-plated zinc finish. It is a single-configuration item, so there is no handing, length, or finish choice to specify.
