B-LINE B769-11ZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the B-Line B769-11ZN cross strut joiner fit my strut channel?
The B769-11ZN is built for Eaton B-Line channel type B11. It is not a universal fitting, so if your run is a different B-Line profile or another manufacturer's channel, the cam screw engagement may not seat correctly in the channel lips. Check the channel stamp or the original submittal before ordering.
2) Do I need to buy extra hardware to connect two struts with the B769-11ZN?
No extra fasteners needed for the joint itself. The B769-11ZN ships with 4 cam screws, which is what secures the joiner into the channel. You supply nothing beyond the strut runs themselves.
3) Is this B-Line strut fitting UL Listed for electrical support work?
The B769-11ZN cross strut joiner is UL Listed, which is what most inspectors and institutional specs want to see on strut support hardware in an electrical room or a conduit rack.
4) Is the zinc plating on the B769-11ZN good enough for outdoor strut runs?
It is steel with an electro-plated zinc finish, which is an indoor or protected-environment coating. For a rooftop, a wash-down area, or coastal exposure, an electro-plated zinc fitting will corrode; a hot-dip galvanized or stainless strut fitting in the same B11 channel size is the right call there.
5) What does a cross strut joiner actually do on a strut run?
A cross joiner ties two lengths of strut together where they meet rather than simply splicing them end to end, which is how you build out a grid or a rack for conduit and equipment support. The B769-11ZN does that job on B11 channel and comes with the 4 cam screws that lock it into the channel lips.
6) What is the exact part number to order this B-Line cross joiner?
Order it as Eaton B-Line B769-11ZN. The ZN suffix is the electro-plated zinc finish, and the fitting is for B11 channel.
7) How heavy a gauge is the B-Line B769-11ZN joiner?
12 gauge steel. That is the standard heavy-duty thickness for B-Line strut fittings, so it is carrying the same class of load as the channel it joins rather than being a light sheet bracket.
