B-LINE B852S-12-8ZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size is the B-Line B852S-12-8ZN bracket?
The published dimensions are 12 in width, 8 in length/depth, and 7.78 in height, so plan on roughly a foot of clearance in the widest direction when you lay out your strut run. It weighs 5.215 lb, which matters when you're stacking several of them on an overhead support.
2) Is the electro-plated zinc finish on this B-Line bracket suitable for outdoor or wet locations?
Electro-plated zinc is the standard finish for dry, indoor, protected environments. For exterior runs, wash-down areas, or corrosive atmospheres, specify a hot-dip galvanized or stainless version of the fitting instead. The B852S-12-8ZN is the electro-plated zinc build.
3) Does the B-Line B852S-12-8ZN bracket come with mounting bolts or strut nuts?
Order the fasteners separately. The B852S-12-8ZN is supplied as the steel bracket alone, so you'll need the appropriate strut channel nuts, bolts, and washers to attach it, plus anchors if you're fixing to concrete or masonry.
4) Does the B-Line B852S-12-8ZN bracket carry a UL listing or other certification?
Certifications are marked Not Applicable for this steel strut bracket. It's a structural support fitting rather than an electrical device, so if your submittal requires a listed support component, confirm the spec with the engineer before substituting.
5) How many variations of the B852S-12-8ZN bracket are there?
One configuration only: model B852S-12-8ZN, steel with electro-plated zinc. There are no size or finish options to select, so the part number is all you need to order.
