Baldwin 1035000PIN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will this pin work with Baldwin hinges outside the Estate Series?
It is an Estate Series part, matched to the 3-1/2 inch hinges in that collection. Baldwin's Reserve and residential hinge lines use their own pin and finial numbers, so check the hinge you have is Estate before ordering this one as a replacement.
2) What is the Baldwin 1035000PIN hinge pin made of?
Solid brass. That matters for two reasons: it matches the brass Estate Series hinges it belongs to, and it takes the same plated or living finishes, so a replacement pin does not read as a different metal in the barrel.
3) Is this a removable hinge pin I can pull to take the door off?
Yes. Baldwin lists the 1035000PIN as a removable pin, so the leaf halves separate once the pin is drawn and the door lifts off without unscrewing the hinge from the jamb or frame.
4) Is the Baldwin 1035000PIN suitable for commercial openings?
Baldwin classes it as a residential part. For apartment interiors, single-family, and light-traffic doors it is the right replacement pin; for a high-cycle commercial opening you would be better off with a commercial hinge assembly rather than repinning a residential hinge.
5) Does ordering the 1035000PIN get me a whole hinge or just the pin?
Just the pin. It is a replacement hinge pin, not a hinge and not a finial set, so if a barrel is bent or a leaf is damaged you need the complete hinge instead.
