Baldwin 6756102EXT – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do I need the extended 6756 or the standard-length Baldwin turn piece?
Go by door thickness. The extended 6756 runs to 3 inches and is the one Baldwin points to above 2-1/4 inches, so it's the choice for thick entry doors, double-thick barn-style slabs, or a door with heavy panel build-up. On a normal 1-3/4 inch door a standard-length turn piece is the simpler fit, though the extended still covers it since its range starts at 1.37 inches.
2) Is the Baldwin 6756 Colonial turn piece rated for commercial doors?
Baldwin lists it as residential. It's Estate-line trim for homes and high-end multi-family interiors, not a commercial-grade cylindrical lock component. For a commercial opening with traffic and code requirements, spec a Grade 1 mortise lock with the manufacturer's own thumbturn instead.
