Baldwin 6605003 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Baldwin 6605 Tremont exterior trim include the mortise lock?
No. The 6605 Tremont is exterior trim only, so the mortise lock body has to be ordered separately, along with a cylinder if your function needs one. Plan on three line items for a complete exterior opening: this trim, the mortise lock, and the cylinder.
2) Is the Baldwin Tremont 6605 trim handed, or will it work on either a left or right hand door?
It's reversible, so one part covers both hands. That matters if you're buying for several openings at once in a house, you don't have to split the order by handing.
3) What size escutcheon plate is the Baldwin Estate 6605 Tremont trim, and will it cover my old prep?
The plate measures 3-5/16 x 17 inches. Hold those numbers against the marks left by the trim you're pulling off, a tall 17 inch plate will hide a lot of previous drilling but a narrow stile can run short on the 3-5/16 inch dimension.
4) Is the Baldwin 6605 Tremont trim suitable for a commercial building entrance?
It's built as residential hardware in Baldwin's Estate Series. For a storefront, office, or multi-family common entry where a graded commercial mortise lock is specified, look at a commercial mortise lockset line instead.
5) What finishes does the Baldwin Tremont 6605 come in?
Two: 003 Polished Brass PVD and 102 Oil Rubbed Bronze. The PVD brass holds its color rather than living-finishing over time, the 102 is a dark oil rubbed bronze that will patina with handling.
