6) Is 031 Non-Lacquered Brass going to stay bright like the 003 Polished Brass PVD?
No. 031 is non-lacquered brass, a living finish with no coating, so it will darken and patina with handling and time. 003 Polished Brass PVD is a physical vapor deposition finish, which is what holds its appearance. If you want bright brass that stays bright on a set of hinges, order 003 rather than 031.
7) Are these Baldwin steeple finials rated for commercial door use?
Baldwin lists the 1093 Estate finials as residential. For a hotel corridor, school or other high-traffic commercial opening, specify hinges and trim rated for that duty instead. These are a decorative tip for residential doors.
