Baldwin 8BR0706001 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Baldwin Reserve 8BR0706 thick door kit actually for?
It is a parts kit, not a lock. The 8BR0706 supplies the longer components needed to install a Baldwin Reserve entry knob or lever set on a door thicker than the standard the lockset ships for. You order it alongside the Reserve entry knob or lever, not instead of it.
2) Is the Baldwin Reserve 8BR0706 kit rated for commercial openings?
Baldwin lists the Reserve 8BR0706 as residential. For commercial corridor or institutional traffic, spec a Grade 1 or Grade 2 commercial lockset line rather than adapting a Reserve residential set.
3) Will the 8BR0706 kit work with a Baldwin knob as well as a lever?
Yes. The thick door kit covers both Reserve entry knobs and Reserve entry levers, so the same part number applies whichever trim style is on the door.
4) Can I use the Baldwin 8BR0706 kit on a Baldwin lock from a different collection?
It is built for the Reserve Series. If the existing lockset is from another Baldwin collection, use the thick door kit published for that collection instead of this one.
