2) Is a Schlage 20-057 FSIC core a substitute for a BEST 6C 7-pin core?
No. The BEST 6C core is a 7-pin core built specifically for BEST 4S cylinders and BEST Standard key systems, and it is ordered by BEST keyway (A through R plus TB, TC, TD and TE). The Schlage 20-057 is a full size interchangeable core rim cylinder with a convertible tailpiece cam, and the 20-057-C is an FSIC core in the Schlage C keyway, 643E Aged Bronze. They are different interchangeable core systems, so a Schlage FSIC core will not key into a BEST 4S housing and a BEST 6C will not drop into Schlage FSIC hardware. Match the core to the housing family already on the door.
3) My doors have conventional mortise cylinders, not interchangeable cores. What should I order instead of the BEST 6C?
The 6C is a removable core for BEST 4S cylinder housings, so it does nothing in a door prepped for a one-piece mortise cylinder. For conventional mortise prep, look at the Corbin Russwin 1000 Grade 1 mortise cylinder in 1-1/2 inch length with an A02 straight cam, the Corbin Russwin 1070 Grade 1 housing at 1-1/4 inch with an A01 cloverleaf cam, or the Detex MC65 mortise cylinder in Schlage C keyway, 1-1/8 inch, 6-pin. Choose by cylinder length and cam style to match the lock body.
4) I have aluminum storefront doors with an Adams Rite deadlock. Can I use the BEST 6C core there?
Not directly. The 6C is a 7-pin core for BEST 4S cylinders. For Adams Rite narrow stile hardware, the 4036 is a five-pin mortise cylinder rated Grade 1 with a 1/2 inch minimum door thickness, while the 4024 cylinder pull with trim plate mounting and the 4025 five pin tumbler cylinder pull with through-screws are both intended for the MS1847 deadlock and deadlatch.
