1) What is the difference between the top pin and bottom pin options on BEST A2 pins?
BEST A2 system pins are sold as two separate items, top pins and bottom pins, and you pick one or the other when you order. Bottom pins are the ones that ride against the key cuts and set the combination; top pins (drivers) sit above the shear line. Rekeying a BEST A2 core normally means stocking both, in the sizes your key bitting calls for.
2) Which BEST A2 pin sizes can I order?
Pin numbers 0 through 9, plus 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18 and 19 are available, in both bottom pin and top pin. Order by the number stamped in your pinning chart for each chamber, and buy the sizes you actually use most heavily in depth rather than one of everything.
