Metallics WDBTR1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics WDBTR1 Black-Top roof sealant used for?
Black-Top is a black roof sealant used on electrical rooftop work, typically to seal around conduit penetrations and fittings where they pass through roofing. Metallics sells it under part number WDBTR1.
2) Is Metallics WDBTR1 the same thing as a conduit seal or duct seal plug?
No. WDBTR1 is a pourable/trowelable black roof sealant compound, not a mechanical plug or bushing. If you need to block airflow or water inside a conduit run itself, you want a duct seal putty or a sealing bushing instead. Use Black-Top on the exterior roofing side of the penetration.
3) Does the Metallics WDBTR1 Black-Top sealant come in more than one size or color?
One configuration only, model WDBTR1 in black. There is no alternate size or tint ordering code for it.
