Blackburn ASL 300 NTN AL 2HOLE NEMA STACK LUG 300

The ASL 300 NTN is sized for 300 kcmil conductor (226.8 kcmil metric equivalent as published). It's a compression lug, so the barrel is crimped onto the conductor with a die-type tool rather than tightened down on a setscrew. One conductor per lug, sold each.

Two-hole NEMA pad drilling is the standard bolt pattern on switchgear, transformer and panelboard pads, which is what the ASL 300 NTN is built to. The tongue measures within an overall lug size of 6-9/16 inches long by 1-11/32 inches wide, so check you have that much clearance above the pad before the conductor bends away. Two-hole landing also stops the lug rotating under fault torque, which is why it's specified on larger feeders instead of a single-hole tongue.

Yes. A compression termination at 300 kcmil needs a hydraulic crimper and the matching die, not a hand-squeeze tool, and the lug is supplied bare with no bolts. Order the pad hardware separately, sized to the holes in your bus. If you want a termination you can make up with a wrench alone, specify a mechanical setscrew lug instead of this one.

Stacking means the tongue is formed so two lugs can be bolted to the same pad, one on top of the other, when you have to land more than one conductor per phase and only one set of holes to do it with. A standard flat two-hole tongue doesn't sit flush when doubled up. If you only have one conductor per phase, a plain two-hole lug does the job and is the simpler part to order.

The ASL 300 NTN is an aluminum-bodied lug, tin plated. Tin plating over aluminum is what makes the barrel dual rated in practice and keeps the tongue from galvanic trouble against a copper or plated bus pad. Aluminum-body compression lugs are also what you want on aluminum feeder, since an unplated copper barrel crimped on aluminum is the combination that causes problems.

One per conductor. The ASL 300 NTN is sold each, model ASL 300 NTN, so a three phase run plus neutral with one 300 kcmil conductor per phase is four lugs at each end, eight for the full termination. Add bolts, nuts and Belleville washers separately.

Overall it measures 6-9/16 by 1-11/32 inches. On a 300 kcmil termination that length matters: measure from the face of the pad to the gutter wall and confirm the lug plus the conductor's bending radius fits before you pull the wire. Crowded gear is the usual reason a correctly sized lug still won't land.
