Blanco 235865 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Blanco 235865 sink grid fit any Blanco sink, or only the Liven 21 inch?
The 235865 grid is custom-fitted to the BLANCO LIVEN 21 inch sink only. Blanco cuts each grid to a specific basin footprint, including where the rear drain opening lands, so a grid built for one model will not sit correctly in a different bowl. If your sink is another Blanco model, order the grid listed for that model rather than this one.
2) Does the Blanco Liven 21 grid have a cutout for the drain?
Yes, there's a rear drain opening in the grid so you can reach the drain, drop in a basket strainer, or clear it without pulling the grid out. Because the opening is at the rear, it lines up with the Liven 21 inch bowl's drain position.
3) Will a stainless grid scratch the bottom of my sink?
The 235865 grid sits on non-skid protective feet with side bumpers, so the stainless frame isn't riding directly on the basin floor or against the sidewalls. The feet also hold it up off the bottom so water drains underneath instead of pooling under the rack.
4) What is the Blanco part number for the Liven 21 inch sink grid, and what finish does it come in?
Manufacturer part number 235865, supplied in stainless steel. That's the only finish for this grid, so there's no finish choice to specify when you order.
5) Is a bottom grid like this the same thing as a Blanco floating grid or colander?
No. The 235865 is a bottom grid: it rests on the floor of the basin on feet, protects the sink surface from cookware and utensils, and works as an in-sink drying rack. A floating grid sits up at the rim on the ledge, and a colander drops in for rinsing and draining food. Blanco sells those as separate accessories, and they can be combined with the bottom grid rather than substituted for it.
6) Is this Blanco sink grid stainless steel, and will it rust in a hard-water building?
It's made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, which is what lets it live wet in the bottom of a sink full time. For property managers replacing plastic racks across a lot of units, that's the practical difference: no discoloring or cracking, and it can go through a dishwasher for cleaning.
7) Does the Blanco 235865 grid need any hardware or tools to install?
Nothing to install. The grid is a drop-in accessory for the Liven 21 inch basin, resting on its own non-skid feet with side bumpers holding it steady. Lift it out to clean and put it back.
