1) Which Bobrick toilet tissue dispensers does the B-2746-3 spindle fit?
The B-2746-3 spindle is the replacement spindle for the Bobrick B-27460 dispenser (two rolls, no controlled delivery, front locking, takes 2 spindles) and the discontinued B-2746 (two rolls with controlled delivery, front locking, 2 spindles). Both units take the same spindle, so a two-roll dispenser needs two of them if you are replacing both.
2) Will swapping in this spindle turn my Bobrick dispenser into a controlled-delivery unit?
No. Controlled-delivery and standard Bobrick tissue dispensers use the identical spindle, so changing the spindle does not convert a unit to controlled or non-controlled delivery. That function is built into the dispenser housing, not the spindle.
3) Does the B-2746-3 spindle need a key, and how is it secured in the dispenser?
The spindle itself is non-locking and takes no key. Security comes from the dispenser: its tumbler lock holds the spindles captive, and they can only be pulled out once the unit is unlocked with a Bobrick 330-43 CAT 74 key. If you are pilfering-proofing a public restroom, you need that key on hand to service the roll, not a key for the spindle.
4) My Bobrick B-2746 dispenser is discontinued. Can I still get spindles for it?
Yes. The B-2746 cabinet is discontinued but the B-2746-3 spindle still services it, so a cracked or missing spindle does not force you to replace the whole dispenser. Same part also fits the current B-27460, which helps if you are standardizing spindle stock across a building with both generations on the wall.
5) What size toilet paper roll does the Bobrick 2746-3 spindle hold?
One standard-core roll up to 6 inches (152mm) in diameter, which is the 2000-sheet size commonly stocked for commercial washrooms. Jumbo-roll cores will not run on it.
