Bobrick 5116 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Bobrick B-5116 clothes hook ADA compliant for a toilet compartment?
The B-5116 single clothes hook is listed as ADA compliant. Note that compliance in use also depends on mounting height, which is set by your installer, not by the hook. Its shallow profile helps: the hook projects 1-13/16 inches from the wall, so it stays clear of the compartment swing.
2) How does the Bobrick B-5116 mount, and are the screws visible?
It's a surface-mount hook. The hook and flange secure to a concealed wall plate with a set screw, and the body snaps over that plate so the mounting screws are hidden. No exposed fasteners on the finished face, which matters in restrooms where picking at screw heads is a problem.
3) What is the Bobrick B-5116 clothes hook made of, and will it hold up in a high-traffic public restroom?
The hook is Polyamide 6, fiberglass reinforced nylon, with a glossy finish. That's a molded plastic body rather than metal, so there's nothing to corrode in a wet washroom and nothing to chip like a painted finish. Finish is white vinyl.
4) Can I mount the B-5116 hook on a toilet partition door instead of a wall?
Yes. It's a surface-mounted hook fixed to a concealed wall plate with a set screw, so it goes onto any flat substrate you can fasten into, including a partition door or pilaster panel. With a projection of 1-13/16 inches it won't foul the compartment when the door swings.
5) Is the white Bobrick B-5116 a single hook or a double?
Single hook, one garment position. If you need two hanging points at one location, you'd specify a double hook rather than this model.
6) What color is the Bobrick B-5116 and is it available in other finishes?
It comes one way: white, in a glossy fiberglass-reinforced nylon body with a white vinyl finish. There's a single model, 5116, so there's no finish or size option to choose when ordering. If you're standardizing a building on brushed stainless accessories, a stainless clothes hook is the match instead of this one.
