1) What thread and size is the Metallics BHC77 hex bolt, and will it take a standard 3/4-10 nut?
The BHC77 is a 3/4-10 hex bolt, 2 inches long, with 10 threads per inch, which is standard UNC coarse thread for a 3/4 inch diameter. Any standard 3/4-10 coarse nut or tapped 3/4-10 hole will thread onto it. Measured shank diameter runs 0.729 to 0.768 inch, and the threads are made to ASME B18.2.1-1996.
2) Is the Metallics BHC77 a Grade 5 or Grade 8 structural bolt?
Neither. The BHC77 is a Grade 2 steel hex bolt, which is the general purpose grade for non-structural work: hanging strut, mounting enclosures and equipment, clamping brackets. If your drawing calls for a Grade 5 or Grade 8 bolt for a structural or high-tension connection, this is not the right fastener.
3) Will a 2 inch long 3/4-10 bolt be long enough for my connection?
At 2 inches of overall length under the head, the BHC77 covers thin stack-ups: a strut channel plus a bracket and a nut, or a flange pair on the order of an inch or so of material once you allow for a washer and nut engagement.
