Metallics BBH72 Bolts 5/8-11 x 2-3/4 HXBT Sbr (Jar 100)

The BBH72 is a 5/8-11 bolt, meaning 5/8 inch diameter with 11 threads per inch, cut to ANSI/ASME B1.1. That is standard UNC coarse thread, so any 5/8-11 nut or tapped hole mates with it. For a bronze grounding connection you normally pair it with a silicon bronze nut so you are not mixing dissimilar metals in the joint.

Silicon bronze is the material of the BBH72, supplied to ASTM F468, the standard covering nonferrous bolts for general use. Bronze is used where a connection has to resist corrosion and stay electrically conductive over time, which is why it shows up on ground rod clamps, grounding bus, water pipe bonds and marine or buried work. Galvanized steel will sacrifice itself against copper and bronze hardware; stainless resists corrosion but is a poorer conductor. If you are bolting into copper or bronze, bronze hardware keeps the joint from galvanic attack.

No. The BBH72 is not Buy American compliant and not ARRA compliant, with country of origin listed as multiple. If your contract carries a domestic sourcing clause, this bolt will not satisfy it and you need a domestically produced silicon bronze fastener instead.

It ships in a jar of 100 bolts, and 100 count is the order minimum. There is no single-piece or small-bag option on the 5/8-11 x 2-3/4 bronze bolt, so plan on the full jar. Other sizes and quantities can be arranged by request.

Solid. The material is silicon bronze and the bronze appearance is the metal itself, not a coating, so cut threads, washer faces and wrench marks will not expose a different base metal. That matters on grounding and bonding work where a scratched plating would start corroding.
