Metallics JMBHC1045 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What thread does the Metallics JMBHC1045 M10 bolt use, and will it take a standard M10 nut?
It is an M10 bolt with a 1.5 mm thread pitch, which is the standard coarse metric pitch for M10. Any standard M10 coarse nut or tapped M10 hole will mate with it. If your assembly uses M10 x 1.25 fine thread, this is the wrong bolt.
2) Will the JMBHC1045 meet a Buy American or ARRA requirement on a public job?
No. The M10 x 45 zinc plated hex bolt is not Buy American compliant and is not ARRA compliant, with country of origin listed as multiple. If your contract carries a domestic content clause, this bolt will not satisfy it.
3) How many bolts come in a jar of Metallics JMBHC1045, and can I buy fewer?
They ship as a jar of 100, and 100 is the order minimum, so the jar is the unit you buy. Metallics does offer other sizes and quantities in the MBHC and JMBHC series by request if 45 mm or the 100 count does not suit the job.
4) Is 45 mm long enough for the thickness I am clamping?
The 45 mm is the overall shank length under the head, so subtract your material stack plus washer and nut thickness to see what thread is left. On strut channel or a single bracket to a tapped hole, 45 mm is the common working length for M10. Stacking two brackets plus a channel nut, go longer out of the MBHC and JMBHC range.
