Boshart 14FIK-07 Filter Installation Kit for Plumbing Rough-In

The Boshart 14FIK-07 Filter Installation Kit is a rough-in accessory kit built to support the mounting and connection of an inline or cartridge-style water filter housing into a plumbing supply run. Designed for use by plumbers and contractors during new construction or filter retrofits, this kit brings together the mounting hardware and connection components needed to set a filter housing in place on a wall or bracket and tie it into the surrounding supply piping. As with other Boshart rough-in products, the 14FIK-07 is intended to be installed behind the wall or in a mechanical room as part of a whole-house or point-of-use filtration setup, not as a finished, visible fixture.

Key Features

  • Installation Kit Format: Packaged as a complete kit so the installer has the mounting and connection components needed for a single filter housing installation in one part number.
  • Rough-In Application: Intended for use during the rough-in stage of a plumbing installation, ahead of finished trim-out, consistent with Boshart's line of behind-the-wall plumbing supply products.
  • Filter Housing Support: Purpose-built to mount and connect a water filter housing into an existing supply line, simplifying the installation process for the plumbing contractor.
  • Boshart Manufacturing: Sourced from Boshart, a manufacturer known for rough-in and connection products used throughout residential and commercial plumbing systems.

Boshart 14FIK-07 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Boshart 14FIK-07 filter installation kit actually do on a plumbing job?
The 14FIK-07 is a rough-in kit that mounts a water filter housing and ties it into a supply run. It bundles the mounting and connection components for a single filter housing installation under one part number, so you're not picking brackets and connectors separately at the counter. It goes in during rough-in, behind the wall or in a mechanical room, not as finished trim.
2) Does the Boshart 14FIK-07 kit include the filter housing itself?
No. The 14FIK-07 supplies the mounting and connection components used to set a filter housing in place and tie it into the supply piping. The housing and cartridge are ordered separately, so specify those to suit the filtration you're installing.
3) Can this Boshart kit be used on an existing water line, or only on new construction?
Both. The 14FIK-07 is written for new construction rough-in and for filter retrofits, mounting and connecting a housing into an existing supply line. On a retrofit you're cutting into the run in place, so plan an isolation point for service either side of the housing.
4) Is the Boshart 14FIK-07 suitable for whole-house filtration or just point-of-use?
Either one. The kit is listed for whole-house and point-of-use filtration installations in both residential and commercial plumbing. What decides it is the housing and cartridge you pair with it, not the kit.
5) Will the 14FIK-07 work as a finished, exposed filter installation under a sink cabinet?
It isn't meant to be a finished fixture. Boshart positions the 14FIK-07 as a behind-the-wall or mechanical room rough-in accessory installed ahead of trim-out. If you want a visible, trimmed point-of-use assembly on display, look to a finished filtration head kit instead.
6) What part number should I put on a purchase order for the Boshart filter installation kit?
Order Boshart 14FIK-07. That's the manufacturer part number and it covers one filter housing installation kit, so quantity tracks the number of housings you're setting.
