1) What size Bridgeport liquid tight sealing ring do I need for a 3/4 inch connector?
Match the ring to the trade size of the connector or conduit, not to the hole in the box. For 3/4 inch, that's the SR-075. The line runs in nine trade sizes from 1/2 inch through 4 inch: SR-050, SR-075, SR-100, SR-125, SR-150, SR-200, SR-250, SR-300 and SR-400. Sizing is one ring per fitting, so count your penetrations before you order.
2) Where does a liquid tight sealing ring actually go on the fitting?
The ring goes between the fitting and the enclosure wall, on the outside of the box, so the gasket compresses against the sheet metal as the locknut is drawn up inside. Bridgeport specifies these for use with liquid tight or raintight connectors, or with threaded conduit when a locknut is used. Put it on the wrong side of the wall and the gasket is doing nothing.
3) Will a Bridgeport sealing ring make a standard connector rated for a wet outdoor location?
The sealing rings themselves are UL-Listed under file E11259 and carry NEMA Type 2, 3, 3R and 4 ratings, and Bridgeport states they meet NEC requirements. What that means on the job: the ring seals the enclosure penetration to those environmental levels. It does not upgrade a dry-location connector into a raintight one. Pair it with a liquid tight or raintight connector and the whole penetration holds its rating.
4) What is a Bridgeport SR sealing ring made of, and will it hold up outdoors?
Two materials working together: a polyethylene gasket that does the sealing, backed by a steel retaining ring that holds the gasket's shape and takes the clamping load. The steel is zinc electro-plated for corrosion resistance, which is why these go into outdoor and washdown penetrations rather than a bare gasket. The gasket is green, so it's easy to spot on a rooftop or in a panel during inspection.
5) Can I use a sealing ring on rigid threaded conduit going into a box, or is it only for liquid tight connectors?
Both. Bridgeport calls out threaded conduit as an application, with the qualifier that a locknut has to be used to draw the joint up. So a rigid or IMC nipple landing in an enclosure can take one of these rings to seal the penetration, same as a liquid tight or raintight connector would.
