1) Will a Bussmann KTS-R fuse drop into my existing Class R fuse block?
The KTS-R is a Class RK1 fuse with blade end x blade end terminals, so it mounts in Class R rejection fuse blocks and holders sized for the same amp range. Class R clips are designed so only Class R fuses seat, which is why an RK1 like the KTS-R goes in where an older non-rejection Class H or K fuse will not. Match the amp rating of the holder to the fuse you order: 15, 20, 25, 30, 60, 100 or 250 amp.
2) Is the KTS-R fast-acting or time-delay? Will it hold a motor inrush?
The LIMITRON KTS-R is a fast-acting fuse, not a dual-element time-delay type. It clears overcurrent quickly, which suits panelboards, feeders and non-motor loads. For a motor circuit or anything with a heavy inrush, a fast-acting fuse sized to the running load will open on starting current - you want a time-delay Class RK1 such as the Bussmann FRS-R (600 Vac) for that application.
3) I have 60A Class H cartridge fuses in an old panel - can I upgrade to the KTS-R-60?
Only if the holder takes Class R fuses. The KTS-R-60 is Class RK1 with a rejection feature, so it will not seat in plain non-rejection Class H clips unless a Class R rejection kit is installed. Going the other way, the RK1 fuse is the upgrade you want for fault current, since a Class H fuse is only rated 10,000 amps interrupting against 200 kAIC for the KTS-R.
