Step up to the optional 7/8 inch throw models. FL-2002 gives 7/8 inch throw with a 1/8 inch offset for a non weather-stripped stile, and FL-2004 gives 7/8 inch throw with a 1/4 inch offset for a weather-stripped stile. The FL-1002 and FL-1004 are the 5/8 inch throw versions.
7) Is there a Calibre flush bolt that fits Kawneer doors?
Yes, the FL-3001 is the special Kawneer type flush bolt, 1/8 inch offset for a non weather-stripped stile. It differs from the FL-1002 and FL-1004 in that it ships without a flush bolt guide, so if your Kawneer prep needs a guide you will be sourcing that separately.
8) How does the Calibre flush bolt actually hold the inactive leaf of a pair?
It is a manual bolt with a positive U joint actuator. You throw the lever on the face and the rod extends 5/8 inch into a 1/2 inch hole in the head or threshold, pinning the inactive leaf so the active leaf has something to latch against. Nothing about it is automatic, so someone has to release it by hand before that leaf swings.
