Metallics 440CT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many tap plugs come in a pack of Metallics 440CT?
Five pieces per pack, supplied in a pouch. If you are plugging unused tapped holes across a run of enclosures, count your holes and order multiples of five.
2) Are Metallics 440CT tap plugs steel or stainless?
Carbon steel. For indoor dry electrical work that is fine, but in a wet, washdown or corrosive location carbon steel will rust, so specify a stainless or plated plug for those openings instead.
3) What is a tap plug used for in electrical work?
A tap plug fills a threaded hole you are not using, keeping dust and debris out of an enclosure or fitting and closing off an opening that would otherwise be left exposed. The Metallics 440CT does that job for 4-40 tapped holes.
4) What part number do I order for the Metallics 4-40 tap plug?
Order it as Metallics 440CT. That single part number covers the carbon steel 4-40 tap plug supplied five to a pouch.
