1) What sizes does the Carlon NEMA 12 opaque collar come in?
The Carlon opaque collar is offered in eight nominal sizes to match the enclosure it sits on: 6x4 (NH64C), 8x6 (NH86C), 8x8 (NH88C), 10x8 (NH108C), 12x10 (NH1210C), 12x12 (NH1212C), 14x12 (NH1412C) and 16x14 (NH1614C). Order the collar in the same nominal size as the enclosure body, since the collar is a depth extension for that box and not a universal part.
2) Will a NEMA 12 collar hold up outdoors in direct sun?
Sunlight resistance is the reason this collar exists. The gray polycarbonate is specified for any outdoor application, especially where sunlight resistance is an issue, so it holds up to prolonged UV without the chalking you get from unrated plastics. Note what the NEMA 12 rating actually covers though: dust, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids. It is not a washdown or driving-rain rating, so on an exposed wall with no overhang, specify a 3R or 4X enclosure system instead.
3) Do I need a bonding jumper or ground conductor run to this Carlon collar?
No. The collar is 100 percent non-metallic polycarbonate, so there is nothing conductive to bond. Equipment grounding still has to be carried through the raceway or cable to the devices inside on a non-metallic system, but the collar itself is not part of the grounding path and adds no corrosion point in a coastal or agricultural install.
