Metallics SDLC3 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much chain comes in a box of Metallics SDLC3?
One box of SDLC3 is a single 100 foot coil of #3 double loop chain, so you're buying it by the box rather than cut to length. For a run that needs more than 100 feet, order multiple boxes and join the lengths with connecting links.
2) Is the Metallics SDLC3 double loop chain stainless steel?
Yes, SDLC3 is stainless, which is why it gets specified for damp, washdown, and exterior hanging work where a plain or zinc chain would start rusting. It's a #3 size double loop chain supplied in 100 foot boxes.
3) What is double loop chain used for on an electrical job?
Double loop chain like the Metallics SDLC3 is a light-duty hanging and utility chain, commonly used for suspending fixtures, signs, and light equipment, and for general tie-off and barrier work. It is not a lifting or rigging chain. The #3 size is one of the common light hanging sizes, and this one is stainless for corrosive or outdoor locations.
