1) Will the Square D HJPAF padlocking device fit a PowerPacT H or J frame breaker?
The HJPAF is built specifically for PowerPacT H and PowerPacT J frame circuit breakers. It is not a universal handle lock, so it should not be ordered for other frame sizes or other breaker lines. Square D designates it for the PowerPacT H/J handle only.
2) Does the HJPAF lock the breaker handle in the ON position too, or only OFF?
OFF position only. The HJPAF is a fixed handle lock that holds the PowerPacT H/J handle in OFF so the breaker cannot be re-energized while work is in progress. If you need to secure a breaker in the ON position, this is the wrong accessory.
3) How many padlocks can you put on a Square D HJPAF at once?
Up to three padlocks can be applied at the same time, which is what makes it workable for group lockout where each person on the job puts their own lock on the device before work starts.
4) Can the HJPAF be added to breakers already installed in a panel, or does it have to come from the factory?
