The BC1725 is tapped 1/4-20, so it accepts 1/4-20 threaded rod, hanger studs, or a 1/4-20 machine screw for picking up conduit hangers, strut, or light fixture drops off a beam flange.

That is the point of it. The BC1725 is a C-style beam clamp that grips the edge of a beam flange and gives you a 1/4-20 tapped hole to hang from, so you support conduit, strut, or fixtures without drilling or welding the structure. Where you cannot get to a flange edge, a different support method such as a strut-mounted or anchored hanger is the way to go.

They ship 20 pieces to a pack, which is the quantity an electrician usually wants for a run of conduit hangers across a bay rather than a single one-off drop.

Steel, and specified as heavy duty, which is why it is used for overhead conduit and fixture support on structural beams rather than the light-duty snap-on clips used for residential runs.
