No. The clamp on the CL210 reads AC current only, up to 400A. DC shows up on the test leads as voltage, up to 600V DC, but there is no DC current function through the jaw. If you are troubleshooting DC amperage on a solar array, battery bank or DC motor, this is the wrong meter and you want a clamp with a Hall-effect DC current jaw.

CAT III 600V, Class 2 double insulation. That covers distribution panels, feeders, branch circuits and hardwired equipment inside a building at 600V and below. It does both, through the test leads: continuity plus resistance to 20 megohms, along with AC and DC voltage to 600V. For most service and troubleshooting work that removes the need to carry a second DMM. One limit worth respecting, resistance and continuity must only be taken on a de-energized circuit, never on a live one.

Klein states it meets electromagnetic environment requirements for basic and controlled environments, which is residential, office and light industrial. Heavy industrial spaces with large drives, welders and big switchgear are a harsher EMC environment than that description covers. For property maintenance, commercial building service, light manufacturing and MRO panel work it is in its element.

The display is a 2000 count LCD with a backlight. Two thousand counts means resolution runs out around three and a half digits, so on a 400A range you are reading to the amp, not to hundredths. That is the right resolution for load checks, motor draw and balancing phases, not for lab-grade low-current work. The backlight covers dark electrical rooms, crawl spaces and ceiling work, and the meter auto-ranges so you are not turning a dial to find the scale.
