The 1000 Series conventional mortise cylinder at 1-1/4 inch length is the shortest in the family and fits mortise locks prepped for that dimension, plus DL3000 deadlocks. Corbin Russwin builds the same 1000 Series platform in 1-3/8, 1-3/4, 2, 2-1/4 and 2-1/2 inch lengths, so if your lock case sits behind a thicker door or a heavy trim rose, measure from the face of the trim to the cam and order the length that matches instead of this one. A cylinder that is too short leaves the cam short of the lock hub; too long and it stands proud of the trim.

No. This is a mortise cylinder, which threads into a mortise lock body or a DL3000 deadlock. A rim exit device takes a rim cylinder, which has a tailpiece rather than a threaded barrel and a cam. For that application look at a rim cylinder such as the Schlage 20-021 with a vertical tailpiece cam or the 20-022 with a horizontal tailpiece cam. The two are not interchangeable in either direction.
4) I have Adams Rite storefront deadlocks. Will a Corbin Russwin 1000 Series mortise cylinder work in them?
Only with the right cam. The 1000 Series is built with an A03 Adams Rite MS cam and an A05 Adams Rite 4070 cam for exactly that job, but the 114 as configured carries the A02 straight cam, which is for Corbin Russwin mortise bodies and DL3000 deadlocks. If you are working an aluminum storefront and want to stay in one brand, order the Adams Rite cam version. If keying to a Corbin Russwin system is not a requirement, the Adams Rite 4036 mortise cylinder is a five-pin Grade 1 unit made for those locks.
